This course provides the learner with complete awareness level training solution for rescue organizations. These sessions begin with an introduction to technical rescue and progresses through discussions of tools and equipment, incident management, and conducting search operations. Participants will be exposed to all aspects of the rescue process and the various environments in which they may be responding.

Technical rescuers need to know how to safely and effectively operate at small and large vehicle and machinery extrication incidents. This course provides participants with the critical knowledge and skills necessary to perform in these environments.

This course is designed to meet the training demands of 29 CFR 1910.146 (k) and NFPA 1670. 24 to 40 hours of intensive classroom and field instruction insures that your facility's confined space rescue team will be proficient in the basic skills needed to safely and efficiently perform entry rescues in your workplace. Topics covered in the program include assessment of confined space hazards, atmospheric monitoring, confined space rescue equipment use and limitations, knots, vertical and horizontal hauling, lowering systems, personal protective equipment and patient packaging.

The Rope Rescue training program covers rescue principles and techniques that blend with the skill sets used by those working in technical rope rescue, fire rescue, tower rescue, confined space rescue, search and rescue (SAR), mountain rescue, urban search and rescue (USAR), helicopter operations, swiftwater rescue, tactical maneuvers & rescue, industrial rope access, building & structure inspection or maintenance, rope rigging and general work-at-height.
Skill sets taught include: Equipment selection, inspection and maintenance; knots; anchors; patient packaging; mechanical advantage systems; belay techniques (including traditional or “slack” belays, tensioned belays, and the use of Twin Tensioned Rope Systems); lowering systems; rappelling; knot passing through rappels, raising and lowering systems; system safety factors; litter rigging and tending; and pick-offs. Practical application is taught through scenarios drawn from actual rescue experience. |

The SRT course provides rescuers with the fundamentals of survival in moving water and is recommended for anyone who may be called upon to effect in-water rescues. Students gain knowledge in hydrology and river classifications, size-up, site control and scene management. Practical skills include self-rescue, swiftwater swimming and the fundamentals of shore, boat and in-water rescues. Additionally students are introduced to the basics of boat handling and the fundamentals of rope rescue including mechanical advantage and anchor systems.
